Meet your
Palm Springs
Officiants

Robbin
(she/her)
Officiant
Robbin Burr, a retired leader in the LGBTQ community, now serves as a wedding officiant in the Palm Springs, CA area. Officiating weddings makes perfect sense as Burr’s next step, since she spent the last two decades of her career working for marriage equality.
Burr’s legacy leaving career included serving as a National Sales Manager at American Airlines where she was a part of establishing the widely acclaimed and historic marketing efforts in the LGBTQ community. She moved on to become the Executive Director of Chicago’s LGBTQ community center. In that role she led the Center on Halsted through a capital campaign to build a new building. Burr was recognized for her contributions at both these organizations with an induction to the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame by Chicago’s mayor.
Upon completion of the Center on Halsted’s construction, Burr transitioned to Prudential Advisors where she became a Diversity and Inclusion subject matter expert, working to broaden Prudential’s recruiting efforts to reach communities largely under-represented and underserved in the financial services industry.
Burr has served as co-chair of the Boards of Directors for Lambda Legal and Center link. She is a skilled facilitator/public speaker and over the years has been a featured keynote, moderator and panelist for many organizations.
After retiring in 2020, Burr relocated from Illinois to Palm Springs California and is delighted to be full time resident of the desert. She enjoys golf, time with her family and as an ordained officiant, assisting couples to celebrate and enjoy the benefits of legal marriage.

Liz
(she/her)
Founder/Officiant
Liz founded Liz Rae & Co in 2015 during her best friend Maranda’s engagement. Her friend, Timmie, at the time also struggled with finding an LGBTQ-friendly officiant who custom-wrote ceremonies. Liz believes the ceremony is the best part of the wedding day and wanted to change the industry by emphasizing not only the importance of marriage ceremonies but inclusivity as well.
When she isn’t writing ceremonies, she’s working on editing her first novel and second fictional novels. She’s been writing her whole life, but gained her storytelling knowledge through Faber Academy’s novel program and UCLA’s TV and Film Writing degree. You can read some of her writing on her website, Liz Rae and more notably, on Thought Catalog. She also writes terrible Instagram poetry at @iamlizrae, but wouldn’t recommend reading it.
She speaks Spanish, some French, and some Italian, and she’s lived in France, Italy, Spain, Peru, the United Kingdom. She’s traveled to every continent except Antarctica.
She loves writing weddings of all kinds — her favorite part about the job is figuring out how to tell each and every story! She can’t wait to get to know you and be part of your wedding.
